missing ofv.msi

Trying to resolve an issue address in KB2570623.

In following directions and running the "fix it for me", now Excel 2003 registers an installation package for the product microsoft office file validation add in cannot be found  try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package ofv.msi when Excel 2003 starts up.

Attempted to remove the registry entry using the "Let me fix it myself" but the registry path listed does not exit on workstation.

How do I remove the ofv.msi error upon Excel 2003 startup?

The registry key will not be available on the computer.

You may have to create one in the given location from the KB2570623 article.

    I had to actually re-install the OFV plug-in so that I could then remove it using the 2nd 'FixIt' option in the KB article.  I think that this functionally does the same thing as what Chandra suggests above, but it avoids have to muck about in the registry.

    So we have to create a registry entry for the software that Microsoft's 'FixIt' removed so that we can tell Excel that the software is no longer there?
