Shared Workbook - data table error

Dear Excel gurus,

One of my colleagues has a shared workbook, which was unshared a little while ago.  Now when she attempts to share it again, she gets an error:

"This workbook cannot be shared because it contains Excel tables or XML maps.  To share this workbook, convert the tables to ranges and remove the XML maps."

However, she does not know how to apply a data table, and when I checked the spreadsheet couldn't locate one either.  We don't know what XML maps are, so don't think they are there either.

Is there an easy way to track down data tables or XML maps, or is this a known error?  If so, is there a workaround?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Kind regards

JD2

    Hi,

I have the same error. I already converted all excel tables to ranges and I don't have XML maps in all worksheets. I still can't share the workbook.

    Appreciate the assistance.

    Regards

    Hi,

You cannot.  You will have to remove the query (though the Query result will remain intact) in order to share the workbook.

I am experience the same issue.  I have a spreadsheet that we have kept shared for quite some time.

I recently modified the spreadsheet to include a microsoft Query with an ODBC connection to refresh data more frequently.  However, adding that has caused the error message indicating that the document can no longer be shared.

How can i keep the MS Query (they are used as VLOOKUP tables) but make it shareable again?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Have you checked hiddent sheets for any ranges converted to tables?  If possible, could you upload the file and then provide a link here.

    Who unshared the workbook?

Restart the computer and then try sharing the workbook .............

In which format is the Excel spreadsheet saved, 97-2003 format or 2007?
