Word does not save changes to Toolbars

I try to use the Customize Toolbars function and set it to always show full menus but when I close any Office 2003 program, including the one I set it in, the function was not saved and I have to do it again.  This happens every time and all of the products.  Is there a fix for this issue or a reg entry I need to manually fix?  I have tried Detect & Repair a couple of times to no avail.

HELP ME PLEASE!!! This is driving me nuts!

Thanks,

Marc

    If you use Word as e-mail editor for Outlook 2003 (that option was removed from later versions) there is a continuing conflict between the requirements for normal Word use and for Outlook use. The simplest solution is to use Outlook's own editor rather than Word.

    This did the trick in all but the Outlook Program.  Every time I start up Outlook, it seems that it undoes what I set in Word.  In other words;

    If I set the toolbars in Word, it retains the settings in all other Office 2003 programs except Outlook.  When I start Outlook, not Outlook Exp., it still has not changed and if I change it and restart the program, it still has not retained the setting, and it resets all the other toolbar customizations, i.e., "Always show full menus".

    I looked for an Outlook Data key in the registry, but could not find one.  And of course, Detect and Repair does not resolve the issue either.

    Thanks for the assistance so far, the "Deletion of the Word Data folder worked in Word and others.

    This information is stored in the Word data key in the registry - See http://www.gmayor.com/my_toolbars_are_missing.htm. If you rename the key, Word will build a new one with default settings.
