Print Problem "Unable to Connect" error message

I am unable to print from any Office application.  The printer menu has an "unable to connect" error message for all network printers plus Adobe PDF printer and Microsoft XPS Document Writer.

All printers work fine with non-Office applications.

What is really odd is when I print from a non-Office application, Office miraculously is then able to connect to the printers until the next time I open the application - then it's the same problem again.

This problem occurs on multiple network printers, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft XPS Document Writer, Send to One Note and Fax.  This is not a printer driver issue.

I did the repair and reinstalled the printers.  The problem persists - Office is unable to preview the print job or connect to the printers. I am able to print in non-Office applications.  Once I print a file from a non-Office application, then Office is able to connect to the printers.

Did you try repairing the Office installation?

Repair the Office installation and verify the results:
