Insert an object: linked Excell table, impossible to see the table entirely

I succeed in imported a table from Excel in my Power Point presentation. The table is linked and it is working fine, but I am missing a column. How can I change or move the view inside the box? I have the same problem when I insert a graphic, I can only see the top left corner of my graphic. I tried to resize the Excel document but I can see the change I am making but it is not fixing my problem.

Thank you,

It sounds as though you're pasting directly rather than choosing Paste Special and then Link.

Things may also behave differently if you have an empty content placeholder on the slide when you do the paste or paste link.  I'd make sure that any content placeholders have content in them first (even if only some dummy text) or simply delete them.

There's a limit to the width of "stuff" that you can transfer across the clipboard.

Try this:

Delete the existing linked Excel table.

Open the spreadsheet, reformat the content you want to link to make it a bit smaller (narrow the columns, go to a smaller text size, etc).

Select and copy the content, switch back to PPT and Paste Special, as Excel object, Link.

With luck, that'll give you all of the info you're after.

I'm having the same kind of problem in word, using Past/ Special/ Past link/ Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object. It does not update properly, the format get changed (I tried preserve formatting after update, which is not always available even if I do it always the same way). Is there a way to do it to avoid unpredictable results?

    Thanks,

Great.  Insert / Object / Create from file tends to give unpredictable results.  You sort of get whatever the source app is in the mood to show you right then.  Unreliable.  Selecting and pasting lets you take control over what gets shown.  Every time.

I used Insert / Object / Create from file. I tried to resize it, I can see the changes as I go, but the missing parts are not showing.

I tried the Past Special and it is working, so thanks a lot!
