I want to have a slide show continuing playing (looping) on a monitor that is for display only.

1 is it possible to have a slide show continuously play?

2 Is there a way Power Point can link to a report made from MS Access?  I will have Access automatically update a report, but want to display it in Power Point slide show?  I can have Access export a PDF file possible and have PP link to it?

3 is there a way the Power Point can refresh automatically?  So that it will show the latest data on the latest linked file?

Is there a better way to do this?

I want to have a slide show continuing playing (looping) on a monitor that is for display only.

1 is it possible to have a slide show continuously play?

Try this:-

1. Slide Show tab.

Set Up group.

Click on:-

Set Up Slide Show

In the:-

Show options

 - part of the pop up window make sure that:-

Loop continuously until 'Esc'

 - has a tick (check) in it.

2. Animations tab.

Transition to This Slide group.

Place a tick (check) in the:-

Automatically After:

 - box then set the box to its right to (for example):-

00:01

 - (meaning 1 second) then, still in the:-

Transition to This Slide

 - group click:-

Apply To All

3. Hit the F5 key to run the Slide Show.

The Slide Show should now run continuously until you hit ESC to stop.

    In answer to your questions

Q1 Yes, see the post by trip-to-tokyo

Q2 No. Access reports themselves cannot be used this way.  You can use a PDF Export or Excel Export of the report.

Q3 I think the best answer I can give would be No.  The reason I say this is that I suspect you mean can the links update automatically whilst the slide show is in a continuous cycle.

I contributed to a similar question where the user was trying to do what you want with links to Excel in PowerPoint.  The poster had a VBA proceedure that controlled the rerunning of the PPT file allowing it to update between shows.  When I find the post I'll supply the link ( I can't find it anywhere at the moment).
