Linking split task

Can I place a link to a split task, where the link (dependency) is on the second portion of the (split) task?

For example, I have a split task that only the second half of the split is dependant on a different task. It is this dependancy I wish to illustrate in the plan.

(I have Project Standard 2002 on XP)

Spup,

The simple answer is no. Your best approach is to either used a delayed link, (e.g. start-to-start with a delay equal to the duration of the first split segment), or break the split task into multiple tasks.

However, if you really want to be inventive, a VBA macro could be written to "read" the split start and finish dates and then initiate the successor task on the finish of the first split segment. Is it worth it?

    Thanks John,

I couldn't see anything obvious so I didn't think it would be simple :)
