StyleRef via VBA

I need to reference a style almost exactly as a quicktext styleref would work with one exeption, I need it to look through the current section, not page. IE if my section ends half way down the page, I want it to stop looking for to reference in that "direction" or "down", and then search "up" through the section.

If that is not possiblemight there me a way to make it so that the standard styleref will look through headers as well?

You'd have to work around the issue by making sure that a section never starts in the middle of a page. The easiest way is to format the referenced style with "Page break before."

Did you ever find a way to get the styleref from the previous page to carry over?

Is what I am looking to do not possible? or would someone mind pointing me in a direction where I may start learning to do what I described?
