I have the file title in the footer of a word document using the insert autotext.  As the document is a template I would like the footer to update automatically if the file name changes. Thanks

You can switch to print preview and then back to your favorite view (Ctrl+F2 followed by ESC) to force an update of the FILENAME field. The alternative is to make use of a macro; see the example at http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm.
