My primary reason for purchasing Microsoft Access 2010 was to track my image database - photographs of aircraft taken over many years.

Can you please confirm that there is a 2GB limit on Microsoft access because I am currently at or around 1.9Gb and get this message when I try and attach an image "It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.".

    Kindest Regards

    George

Yes, there is a 2GB limit on Access files and it sounds like you have reached the max.  The problem is, you may not be able to even get your data out once you have started getting that message.

You should probably use SQL Server Express as it holds 10Gb, the last I looked.

Is there any way you can restore from a backup?  Also, have you been diligent in running Compact and Repair on this database?  If you are storing the actual photos in the database, that can cause the database to quickly grow.  The best way is to store the PATH to the pics and store them in a file folder instead.
