Cursor jumps erratically when selecting a block of hidden text using keyboard shortcuts (shift-right arrow)

Question

When I use normal keyboard shortcuts like shift-right arrow to select a block of text I want to copy, move, format etc., and if the text is marked as hidden, the cursor randomly and erratically jumps around, unselecting the selected text. 

Doesn't harm anything (doesn't delete text or change anything), and I can always use the mouse to select the text & work on it, but it's annoying and this never happened to me in earlier versions of Word.  Happens on every computer I own at home and at work when using Office (Word) 2010.

Do you have a laptop or desktop?

Usually this happens when we work on a Laptop machine due to the sensitivity of the mouse.

1)      Open Start menu and click on Control Panel button

2)       In the Control Panel window double click Mouse icon

3.     In the Mouse Properties select the Pointer Options tab.
4.     Here change the slider position to increase or decrease the mouse speed under Motion section as highlighted above

5)     Click Apply and then OK button

6.     Close Control Panel

I already have SP1 installed on all the systems I use (all of which are exhibiting exactly the same behavior).  They're 32-bit Office installs, and the behavior occurs on PCs running both Windows 7 64-bit OS and Windows 7 32-bit OS.

Have any of you actually tried to replicate what I'm experiencing?  It happens on every system I try it on, at home and at work.

Is your Office 2010 installed as 32bit version or 64 bit version?

Install Sp1 for Office 2010. Must solve the issue.

Happens on every machine I have, both desktops and laptops.  But I'm not using the mouse when I have the problem:  the problem occurs when I'm using keyboard shortcuts (like shift-right arrow, or control-shift-right arrow) to make the selection, and only if the text is already marked with the "hidden" property. 

If I use the mouse to select the text everything works perfectly.
