visio 2010 process tab missing

The title says it all.

I can find multiple references to the use of the Process tab on the Visio2010 Ribbon. But on my version of Visio 2010 Professional, the tab does not appear to exist. I have checked the customise Ribbon option, and it doesn't appear there either. I have also tried restting the ribbon - no change.

Any suggestions?

PS I have also just installed SP1 , still no change

just so that I understand, when you open the cross-functional flowchart template, the process tab is not there. (on mine it is but I have v2010 premium which go most of the bpm upgrades).

There are two workarounds to this:

    1. Have the sub-process in a separate file, and hyperlink to that file from a sub-process activity element.
    2. Have the sub-process in a separate page within the same file. Add a hyperlink to a sub-process activity element, and click the "Sub-address" field's 'Browse' button, and select which page to navigate to.

Only found out about these now myself, still learning Visio and BPMN :)

    Al,

I have since discovered that the Process tab is only available in the Premium edition.

    Thanks for the unintentional hint.

To see the differences between the different editions, go to the comparisons page. Only the premium edition supports the sub-process (which I assume this is part of) and validation features.

    I suspect Al's hint was 100% intentional!
