Whenever I try to save my excel file in Excel 2007 I cannot and it asks me if I want it to repair the file for saving. I click continue and it then comes up with a window that tells me that the errors were too extensive and cold not be repaired. I went to the error log and found this.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

<recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main"><logFileName>error059160_01.xml</logFileName><summary>Errors were detected in file 'C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\My Briefcase(origin)\Private log book.xls'</summary><additionalInfo><info>Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were not possible. Excel attempted to save your formulas and values, but some data may have been lost or corrupted.</info></additionalInfo></recoveryLog>

    Does this issue occur with all the excel spreadsheets?

    Try saving the file in ‘Document’s folder’ and check if it helps. You may also follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the following link:
