Double-click to open Access objects does not work

Every time I need to open an access object, or a field in query design, I have to right click and select open.  Is there a way I can change it to have double click open everything?  Thanks!

    Hi Vmurakam,

A few questions / suggestions I have are:

+>Does this problem happen in all of your databases? Could you test creating a new blank database, then create an object and see if the problem also exists there?

+>Does the problem happen outside of Access?

+>I have seen similar problems occur when the double click speed for the mouse itself is set to high. To change this go into the settings for your mouse and change the Double-click speed to a slower speed.

+>If changing the double click speed doesn’t work, do you have a different mouse you could test with? If so, what are the results when you use that mouse?

    Best Regards,

I changed the double-click speed on my Dell E6510 and it fixed the problem!  It was set to very fast (next to last tick on the right of the scale) and I put it in the middle (I'm not sure how this was changed, as I don't remember ever changing it).

    Made my day!

    Thanks.  Russ

P.S.  Still makes me wonder why this only affects Access 2010, though.

I had the same problem, with touchpad as well as mouse, with all my databases. No problem outside access. I set the mouse double click speed to slow, got it working.

However this isn't the cause of the problem, since I always worked with the same double-click speed for months on Access and it just stopped working by itself one day.

I have this problem as well. NONE of the suggestions below help. It is an "Access-only" problem. So wierd. Also can't double click to add fields to the QBE grid in a query. SOOOOO Frustrating!!!
