Dialogue Box-Finalizing the String

As I try to type in Japanese, I used to be able to see what I was typeing.  Now the little dialogue box pops up with little green arrow on it instead.  I can't see what I'm spelling until I hit enter to convert Romanization to Japanese character and it really slows my writing process down.  Does anyone know how to get rid of the little dialogue box?  (When I move my curser on to the box, it says Finalizing the String.)

Please help.

I also encountered the same problem when inputting Chinese. Here is an easier way to get out of this, and hopefully it extends to other language modes as well.

When the "finalize the string" box comes up, Switch the input mode from Chinese to English. The switch can be either from Chinese mode to standard English mode, or from "Chinese" in Chinese mode to "English" in Chinese mode. Then switch the input mode back to Chinese. Type a few English letters before switching back if necessary, in case the FTS box is not easily fooled. The FTS box should disappear after switching back.

Too bad such a long time has passed and there is still no "official" fix.

I ran into this issue and found that it works itself out if you simply close MS Word and reopen it again.  Hope this helps.

Have you figured out the answer to your problem? I seem to be facing the exact same problem right now and would like to know whether or not you have found the solution to this annoying box that 'finalises the string'.

Do you face the issue with only office programs or with all the programs?

If you face the same issue with other programs then, post your question on windows forums mentioned below.
