Microsoft Access 2007 Error Message

I am tring to create a databhe database with two tables and I am trying to complete the relationship process and "the database engine could not lock table because it is already in use by another person or process'. I am using a computer at my college's resource center. Until I can clear this error I cannot go to the net step

    Make sure that the tables aren't open when you  try to create the relationship. It may help if you close, then reopen the database.

    With the exception (sort of) of Autonumbers , which would be Autonumber vsInteger or Long .

    Relationships must be between fields of the same type: number vs number or date/time vs date/time or text vs text.

    Ok so I closed the tables and now the error message is Error 3409

    "Invalid field definition "ID" in definition of index or relationship"...now what does that mean???

    And when you reopen it, hold down the Shift key so a possible AutoExec macro does not run.
