Opening Word/Excel Documents from another computer

I know this is an issue, I just don't know how to correct it. I have noticed on many different occations that whether I get a Word file or Excel file from work or a friend, I cannot open it on My computer.

If I check the properties of the file, it says something to the effect that this file was created on another computer and is being blocked to help protect my computer. If I UNBLOCK, it still will not open.

Thats great...but its protecting me so much that I can't get to the info I need. Is there anyway to turn this off. I have only noticed this since upgrading to Office 2010. I need to be able to open all Office documents REGARDLESS of what computer it was created on.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Chaz

Are you able to open the files created on the same computer?

Check if the application is in protected view and turn off the protected view.

Refer the link to disable the protected view:-

Are you saving the attachment to your local HDD first?

    Hi Chaz

Are you receiving these documents via Email, or otherwise?

Is the problem occurring when trying to work with the files from within the Email program, or when you use File/Open in an Office application to access them?

What actions are you performing, when you get the message? And what is the exact message text?
