Outlook 2010. Has been working fine. All of a sudden getting this error message "microsoft outlook 2001 cannot be opened. Try again or repair in control panel" . Tried repair of internet connection but said server could not be found. However, I have a internet connection and was able to access email remotely.  Rebooted numerous times.

Don't where to look or what to do now. This is a business and need an email badly that was archived.

Outlook certainly should open without an internet connection, correct?

Microsoft, I spent a lot of money on your software. You should at least provide a call in support for defective products. I shouldn't have to wait hours or days for a solution on a business product.

I am not resolving the issue by using the repair method. Do I have to re-install and will it wipe out my contact list?

Worked for me. I'm running Windows 7. Using Programs and Features in Control Panel, I repaired MS Office Connector, then ran Change in MS Office Home and Business 2010

I assume a full re-instal is needed at this point. Sad that I pay $400 for a business product that is full of bugs. Another fine Microsoft product rushed to market. Another 3 hours of my life I would like to get back also.

I assume that "2001" above should actually be "2010".

It's not the repair of the Internet connection that the error message is recommending, it is the repair of Office.  Open Control Panel, choose Add or Remove Programs, Select Microsoft Office 2010, and click Change.  Select the "Repair" radio button and click Continue.  Answer any additional prompts.
