Hi Alhannon
<<"This error usually occurs because of macro security settings. If you know that the macro comes from a source that you trust, you can change your macro security settings to allow you to enable the macro.">>
Actually, this isn't an error message (even though it says that). Word is warning you about the content of the document you're opening. It contains programming code, and Word wants to be certain you know that and decide whether to trust it.
The security settings are changed in File/Options/Trust Center; click the button on the page.
You'll then get a list of options that control how security is handled for your user profile. You should consider very carefully any changes you make here. If you, yourself, do not program macros then I would definitely not activate allowing macros to execute.
Indeed, even if you do make macros for yourself, I wouldn't do so except in a test environment.
Instead, I'd either store my documents with macros in "Trusted locations" or I'd specifically trust the individual documents. Or, I'd create a digital signature for myself, trust that, and sign my macro projects (this is good if you have macros that are
fully developed and don't need to be changed).
