A family of Microsoft presentation graphics products that offer tools for creating presentations and adding graphic effects like multimedia objects and special effects with text.
I assume you were saving as a PowerPoint package so that your presentation would be portable from one computer to another.
Things to keep in mind:
- In the new format, copies of your media are embedded within the PowerPoint presentation file, so there's no need to copy the media files.
- PowerPoint for Windows supports QuickTime format, but only in PowerPoint 2010. For other Windows versions your best bet is to use .wmv format and install Flip4Mac on your Macs.
- Keep an eye on your RAM usage. Movie files plus large PowerPoint presentation can equal a big RAM requirement. If your presentation computer starts using the hard drive as swap space, then your movies will play slowly and not smoothly. On the Mac, use Activity Monitor to keep tabs of RAM and swap. Ideally, swap should be zero. If not, get more RAM.
