Error code: "Unspecified error."

I've just installed Office Home and Student 2007. I am unable to send a Word document in an email. When I click on Send>Email: Send a copy of the document in an email message as an attachment, the following window pops up: Logon failed: YOu must long on to Microsoft Exchange to access your address book. Error code; "Unspecified error."

I am the sole user of this program. I don't have need for an Exchange account since I use POP3 email.

What must I do to negate this and send documents in an email.

Thanks for your assistance.

Word 2007 will use the email clients installed in your computer namely outlook or windows mail. As said by Doug office home and student doesn’t come with outlook. As you are using windows Vista the email client available is windows mail. Follow the steps suggested in the article below to configure email account in windows mail and try sending the document as emails:-

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Mail-setting-up-an-account-from-start-to-finish

If you have outlook installed as standalone and you are getting this error message you can create a new outlook profile by following the instructions given in the article below:-

    Hi Doug,

    Thanks for the response.

I am using Win Mail that came with Vista Basic.

At this time I am sending Word documents using Copy and Paste, and of course this

    is not what anyone wants.

I had originally set Win Mail as my default mail client and it appears it will have to be

repeated with the addition of the new software. I didn't think of that.

I'll reset it and let you know.

    Thanks again.

The Home and Student version of Word does not include Outlook.  What mail program are you using to access your POP3 mail account.  If you were to set Windows Mail as the default email client, then you should be able to send from Word.  Otherwise, you will have to attach the document to the mail message in whatever Mail software you are using.

    -- Hope this helps.
