Filtering data with comments on cells?

Hi,

I am trying to 'filter' data and get the "cannot shift objects off sheet" message. I have tried all of the solutions in the 'knowledge base' article and various websites. The only thing that makes it work is removing all of the comments* from the worksheet. After doing this it filters perfectly with no error messages.

However, i really need the comments when using the filtered data. Is there a way to filter the data without removing the comments?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer,

Ryan

* By comments i mean the ones you insert with right click/insert comment - sorry if thats not the right term.

AutoFilter seems to work O.K. with Commented cells.  If the cell lies in a row which AutoFilter displays, the Comment is active.  If AutoFilter hides the row, the comment is hidden as well.

This is the case for both comments displayed by mouse-over as well as comments display without mouse-over.

    Hi,

sorry but cann't reproduce your comment issue. The autofilter and the advanced filter works for me as expected. Which filter do you use and which knowledge base articles did you read?

    Regards,

    Frank
