I am trying to open a .psd document in MS Word. I receive the following error message:

The program used to create this object is Package. That program is not installed on your computer. to edit this object, you must install a program that can open the object.

Any help/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I am running Windows 7 Office 12

PSD is not a format that Word can handle. You will either need converter for Word to open it or the program that created it. Are you sure it is a "document" with words in it?

One program that creates PSD files is Adobe Photoshop.
