uninstall jet database

Question

I need instructions on how to uninstall / install jet 4.0 database engine . The system will not let me run the service pack . I am trying to fix corrupted database engine error. Anybody help please . It does not appear in the add/remove programs dialog

Hi Grant,

Are you able to open up a sample or new Access database on your machine?  If so, then as Daniel mentioned, the problem most likely isn’t with Access or Jet but most likely with the 3 party product you are using.  If you are unable to open a sample database or new database, then what error do you receive when you try to do this?

From what I can find online this seems to be a common issue with  creative mediasource player.  Your best bet is to find a forum relating to creative mediasource player.  Personally, I'd contact the company directly through their contact/support web page.

I also read a few post that stated that once they update their OS and Office, everything worked.  So you might want to ensure you have performed all your updates!

Hi Nathan , I am getting error message from the app; creative mediasource player . 'pc music library is corrupted' then it tries to rebuild the database and the error 'jet database engine is corrupt run Jet sp8 .  Problem is compounded by no add/remove program option available and the files on the system already are newer than the d/l ones from msoft. Creative don't have a fix that works they its windows problem . thanks friend.
