Missing data from Power Point presentation opened with Windows 2010

I received a Power Point presentation as an email attachment. It was created under an earlier version of Power Point. When opening it with Power Point 2010 I find several data sets are missing on some charts. Other charts are fine. How can I insure that the entire presentation opens correctly?

Ah, so these are tables and diagrams?

Sorry. You're referring to "chart," which often means an Excel chart or an MS Graph chart. But it can also mean a SmartArt diagram or an organization chart or a bunch of different things, all of which can be created with different tools (Excel, SmartArt tools, table tools, the old diagramming applets, etc.). Since we can't see your screen, we can't tell what kind of data is missing.

There was no Excel data involved. It was only text created on another computer and sent to me as email attachment. One chart was imported from a previous presentation and the body text was missing, while the headings were intact. On another chart, one column of text was missing while the other 2 columns were intact. Two other charts opened OK. I know the text was all there since I opened the deck on my iPad and could see it all.  I recently installed Windows 2010 and all PP files in my documents seem to have converterd OK.  Thanks,   John

What kind of data sets did you insert?

Do you have the Excel data file linked with PowerPoint on the same computer?

To better understand the issue, provide a sample data upon what data set you have inserted.
