AutoCorrect options NOT SAVING

Hi, I'm using Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. I recently switched to a new computer at work (I'm a translator) and now I'm trying to set up my AutoCorrect options so that I can have shortcuts for long sentences  (I've used this setting for a long time on the previous version of Word I was using, so I'm familiar with how it works). I've entered the text I want to be added and the shortcuts I want to use, I then save it and in very short time it's GONE and I have to do the process all over again. When I enter the text and the shortcut I test it on a document and it works, so I know I'm doing it correctly. I just don't know why all my shortcuts get erased all of the sudden. I don't know if it has something to do with using several languages, but I was doing the same before with my previous version of Word and I never had a problem. This is a very important feature for my work so I really need to be able to use it! Thanks!

It seems as if something is preventing you from saving to Normal. Try opening the Normal template as a document and save the formatted AutoCorrect entry directly to that file (via File tab | Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options). Save and close Normal.

To open Normal as a document, do the following: From within Word, press Ctrl+O. In the Open dialog box, click "Templates" in the left pane. Click Normal.dotm and then click the Open button.

If the above works (which it should), the next step is to figure out why you cannot save properly to Normal.dotm.

Excuse me for being so rude but this is not an answer. What I and the first person to raise this question want to do is something we did all the time in the previous version of word and now it doesn't work, why can't Microsoft just admit they screwed up and fix it. It's enough to make you want to go and buy an Apple computer. (Only joking... maybe)

I should not have to open the normal template every time I want to put in a new autocorrection. nor should I have to go mucking around with the registry.

You can't align objects in the graphics function anymore, and the new search in file explorer is totally incomprehensible. Bring back search puppy, that was easy to use and very useful.

I'm a loyal microsoft user but why do you keep taking out perfectly good bits of functionality and replacing them with ****.

AutoCorrect entries are language-specific; you will only get corrections for the language at the insertion point, so the fact that you're using several languages is definitely relevant.

The exception is formatted AutoCorrect entries which are language-independent (and they are stored in the Normal template).
