This was a downloaded .exe, and during install after entering product code gives this message.

Windows Vista SP2 OS 32 bit, I even tried copying the extracted files for setup to a temporary location and use setup.exe and the same resulting error. Th efile actually exists in thta folder but install will not recognize it as being there.

Start the system in clean boot mode and then try downloading and installing Office 2010.

Note: Once troubleshooting is completed, ensure to start the system in Normal mode by following Step 7 in the above article.

I've got the same problem with Office 2013 Pro Plus downloaded from Microsoft Action Pack Partner web site.

I've tried to download again & unzip the file (using 7-ZIP) : same problem.

I've tried to unzip it to a different folder (c:\Office2013) : same problem.

It's a clean Win 7 x86 install without antivirus. Microsoft update done.

Your instruction triggered to try the following:

When the window popped "Setup cannot find ProPlus.WW\ProPrWW2.cab, I opened the DVD tray, and then closed it back in, allowing the DVD to spin faster. Next, cancel the AUTORUN, followed by pressing OK in the directory window several times until the Setup program continued to read the DVD.

     It worked!!

This problem is due to poor DVD quality, older drives may not read this file. To fix the problem obtain an another student version of office, even if it has been used twice, install it in the DVD drive when the problem occurs, DO NOT LET IT AUTORUN, the window will advise that 2 installions cannot occur at the same time, DO NOT CLICK OK, this will cancel the innstallation, instead click the X at the right corner of the box and point to the DVD drive, problem solved.
