Paste Special Subtract

I am attempting to zero out a worksheet by copying the data and using paste special subtract to paste it back to the same location.  I want this operation to ignore formula cells.  According to the help text Paste Special Subtract should:

Subtract the values in the copy area from the values in the paste area.

I interpreted this to mean that the operation would only affect values not formulas.  However, in a cell which contains the formula =B39, the result is =B39 - B39.  Have I misinterpreted?  If so, is there a way to accomplish what I am seeking to do?

Hi,

A different approach. Put a zero in a cell and copy it then

F5 - special - select constants and un-check everything except 'Numbers' - Ok

Right click any select cell - paste special - OK

This works perfectly.  Something I never would have considered.

    Thanks.

One way to clear a form-type sheet is to hold down the Ctrl Key and individually select each of the cells that are for Data Input, then click Insert > Name > Define and type some name in the Names In workbook" box > OK.  Then press F5 > anc choose that name you just filled in.  then Right-click on one of those cells and choose "Clear contants"
