Save as command isn't working.

Question

I am not able save files using the save as command in Office 2010.  The error I get says the file cannot be found and to check the spelling and the path.

I have the same problem.When saving to a network folder ie. on a windows 2003 server. but the same file can be saved to the desktop and then copied to the folder on the file server with no problem. Excel does the same thing. If you save to a Windows 2008 server I dont have the problem. I am using windows 7 64b and office 2010 on new desktops. I even went in to options and added the network location as a trusted location but that did not help The same user on Windows XP and Office 2003 had no problem until I setup a new desktop for them.

Do you have Kaspersky AV softaware? This has some known issues with Word and it will probably be necessary to prevent it from actively checking Word documents

Does the issue occur only on Word or with all the office applications?

Are you able to save from other windows applications like Wordpad or notepad?

If the issue occurs only in word, you can try the below mentioned steps:

1.    Click Start->Run (Windows key + R key) and type WinWord /a->click ok.

2.    Create new document and try to save it.

3.    It works try deleting the Data and the Options key mentioned in the article below:
