Make a subproject read only

Hello again - lots of questions today! Is it possible to restrict access to certain subproject files by setting permissions on them? I know how to make a file read only but I wondered if you can be more selective...

Thanks, Anita

You can insert the field Subproject Read only in a table view in a consolidated schedule. For the subprojects that you want to open when you open the consolidated schedule (master), set the field to no. Close the file reopen, then verify that someone else can open the files read/write when you have the master open. You can also put passwords for write access of individual files.

    Hello Stormy Girl,

You can password protect files, however there have been several reports of problems with password protected files.  I suggest creating a "static" master by inserting the subproject files read-only.

    I hope this helps.

    Julie
