Enclose character function doesn't turn out right

Question

When I try to use the enclose character function on Microsoft Word 2007, instead of getting a hyphen enclosed in a circle, I get {eq\o\ac(O,-)}. What should I do?

Press ALT+F9 to toggle the display to show the result (and if necessary F9 to update the field).
