At the link below is an example of an Excel macro doc (Macro Problem.xlsm) that has the issue of crashing when you record a new Macro and type "Manager" in C18 and then tab to C19 and Type "F" and then tab or enter.

Any ideas as to what causes this issue?

And the problem happens on both XP and System 7 running Office 2010.

Thanks!

Didn't crash on me.

Try deleting your temp files. I have to do that all the time when working with code.

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Window+R keys to get the Run box.
  3. Type %temp% and hit Enter.
  4. Hit Ctrl+A, then hit Delete on your keyboard to send 'em all to the recycle bin.
  5. Always a good idea to restart your PC at this point.

Here is the solution on a different thread (the thread isn't marked as answered yet, but then again this one is, and it wasn't the proper solution).  I'm so glad someone finally found the answer!

I've done everything I know to do (using all the Microsoft suggestions) and still get crashes when running Macro programs.  Excel 2013 on system 7 is the most unstable application I've ever tried to use.

A co-worker and I are having the same problem.  The suggestion below did not fix it.  Has anyone else had this specific problem and found the solution?

I have been holding off on recording any future macros until I can find the answer.  Thanks!
