Video does not display full screen

I have a .wmv file I want to play in PowerPoint. When I play it in Windows Media, and go to full screen, it plays properly.

However, when I ask PP to go full screen, it does not. It plays with a significant size border around it.

How do I get PP to use the full screen like WM does?

Using PowerPoint 2010, Windows 7.

Thanks, Fred.

Is the problem that the PPT presentation won't go full screen or that the WMV within PPT won't go full screen?

If the former, you need to set the presentation's page size to a proportion that matches your screen proportions.

It's possible that the video itself is "letterboxed" ... has black bars top/bottom.

Have you tried playing the video file on its own, outside PPT?

And are the video resolutions of your projector and computer matched?

It doesn't look like a proportion issue. Some of the video looks like a small square with lots of border around it and other looks like it's at least full width with black just on top and bottom. I think this video was made from pieces of other video that may have been different proportions. When I play the slideshow on my computer, it's all full screen. When I use the projector, it isn't.

It may simply be that the video is 4:3 proportioned and you're using a widescreen display.

Or vice versa.  In that case, "full screen" means "Make it as big as possible on the screen without distorting the movie and leave black on either side or top and bottom if necessary."

My problem is the latter. The rest of the PPT presentation is full screen. The video is not. (Also using PPT 2010, Windows 7, wmv video embedded and Play Full Screen box is checked.
