Office 2010 Rollback error with no code

Hi,

I am trying to install the copy of Microsoft 2010 Office Professional Plus I bought, which was preceeded by the beta version, and 2007.  When I run the installer, enter my product key, and click install, it will go 2/3 of the way, and then start to roll back.  It installs some files under C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office14, and then deletes them. The installer then stops, and says it has encountered an error, with no code or extra information.

I have tried all the tips floating around, including the Fix it for both 2007 and 2010, Installer Cleanup Utility, Renaming the Help file, manually clearing the C drive and the registry, CCleaner, and even trying to make the permissions for Microsoft Office folder, so that SYSTEM cannot delete files, but none of it works.

I would be really grateful for a solution for this,

Thanks, Jammie66

Uninstall office completely using theKB 928218

Note: make sure you take a backup of the registry, also read the disclaimers carefully before making the changes.

Then use a new windows user account created as administrator to install office. Once office is successfully installed, you may delete the new windows user account created. Check the link below for information on creating user accounts:

When it rolls back it will give you an error code. Which error code do you get?

Also, make sure your computer is fully up-to-date and got a reboot before attempting to install Office 2010 again.

As I stated in my first post, I get no error code.  It tells me that "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 encountered an error during setup."

I have rebooted many times, and all available updates have been installed.

Try to install Office in Windows clean boot mode and check.

Note: Perform step 7 to restart the computer in normal mode.
