Hyperlinks don't work with Proxy

Hi,

It has become apparent that macs on our network are having issues with hyperlinks. They can insert them but when you click on the link an error message appears:

cannot download the information you requested.

I have tried taking my macbook home and the problem is not present. The only difference is that at home I don't have a proxy.

I have no problems with Internet access and my account does not have any restrictions on it.

Anybody else had this problem?

TIA

    Hey Neo,

I'm unable to reproduce your issue here in a proxy environment. Just to confirm, other Mac users on your network are experiencing the same issues, correct?

Also, what version of Office for Mac 2011 are you using?

Yeah, this is how I have it set up. Like I said, I can browse HTTPS and HTTP sites without any issues. If I use Pages (apple's equivilent to word) Hyperlinks work fine so it must be someting to do with Word and proxy settings.

    Cheers

    Hi,

The proxy has been configured manually for both HTTP and HTTPS. Https and HTTP websites work fine via a browser.

Where is this link you speak of?

    Cheers

Have you configured the proxy automatically with a PAC file. If so, try configuring the proxy manually and ensure that it is configured both HTTP proxy and the HTTPS proxy. For more details, you may refer to the link below.
