Text box doesn't print text - Document formating. - Odd Behaviour - Word 2007

Help!

I once again bow before the computer gurus and ask respectfully for help.

We have a large base of word documents stored on our network any document with a text box may be affected.  We are not exactly sure when this started.  (VERY painful! - 2000+ users)

Specfically, if the document has a text box created in it the text box will not print correctly.  The box will either not appear or slice off the text...

The short term fix is to adjust transparency to 100%.  (Which I thought would mean don't show anything)?

Click on the text box, when hash marks appear we will right click on the blue litter sqare and then click formating.  From there we adjust the "Transparency" to 100% and then text will print.

Here is the text as seen on screen:

Here is the actual printout.  (Notice the missing areas)

If we create a new document.... (has less complicated layout) with a new text box the text simply prints with the transparency remaining at 0%

WinXP 32bit - Fully updated.

Office 2007 - Word (12.0.6546.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6545.5004)

Documens not necessarily created originally in 2007 but now saved as docx.

What is going on!?

How can we fix this problem......?   At least withour recreating all of our documents.

Anyone seen this before?

Thank you,

Tony Heslington

Seems the problem is related to PostScript vs PCL6 drivers and may possibly only be present in office 2007 and not in office 2010.

Problem happens on different brands of printer.

HP is the scan published in my email.  For fun I just printed from a Xerox - Same issue.

You have a problem with your printer driver. Make sure that you have the latest driver for your printer and then delete and reinstall the printer.
