Excel 2007; Windows Vista

After moving Excel files in Windows Explore, then trying to open a file, I get the cannot find file/path etc message.  I can copy the file to another location and open it.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening.

Thanks for your help.

Ann

    Hi,

I'm not sure what your doing here but if your trying to open a file from your recent files list that you have moved from the original save location then Excel can't do that.

When a file is saved Excel keeps a record of the path and filename in the recent files list. If you then move it using windoes explorer then that path is no longer valid and won't work.
