Floating Command Buttons?

Hi

Is it possible to set a command button so that it stays on the screen wherever you move in the sheet, or does it have to stay put?

I have a command button that plots a chart of the selected data and reformats it, but when you select the data you invariably end up a long way down the screen and have to scroll back up to press the button, a minor irritation I know, but its all about the UX ☺

Cheers,

David

Hi,

The easiest was is to put the button in rows (say) 1 and 2 and then use freeze panes and the button will stay visible.

Another way would be to create a custom toolbar and leave it on the sheet instead of docking it and that will float.

To create a 2003 custom toolbar have a look here

Thanks for the advice Mike and Ste'. I need it to be part of the workbook not part of the Excel UI so the freeze panes option will be best in this case; it seems so obvious now you say it, I'll get right on it.

    Cheers,

    David

you can customize the tools bar, in commands if you select macro you can add a new customize button.
