Change properties of animated gif

I have an animated gif in my 2007 PowerPoint presentation under Windows7. It loops when I view the display. I want to change the property so that I have to Click It before it plays. When I insert this gif using the Movies Media Clip tool I did not get a dialog asking if I wanted the gif to play automatically or when it was clicked.

How do I change the property of an animated gif from play automatically to play when clicked?

There's no way to really control the animation of gifs in PPT. You may be able to fake it though. Copy the gif and paste special as gif to get a non animated copy. Now animate the real gif to appear and the fake gif to disappear when the fake is clicked. Note you cannot control the start of the gif animation it will just be running invisibily.
