You appear to have a macro in template (or an add-in) that is incompatible with your version of Word. With the template open, when the error occurs, click debug and see which line of code is at fault.

    Thank you.

    I have resolved the error.

With regards to the second portion of my query, I am trying to use the merge fields rather than form fields from the original database in the body of the email - Company Name, Contact etc and while the body displays as it should the merge fields are omitted.

It's probably an issue with the name of the corresponding field in the datasource.  When the mergefields are inserted into the Mail Merge Main document, Word will make changes to the field name in some circumstances and those changes are not reflected in the name of the variable that is created and for which the values should be shown in that field.

If the second part of your question means that you are trying to send the merged document with formfields as the body of the email, I do not think that is possible

I have a mail merge document with form fields that contains this same error - all fields work fine except for the one and I can't seem to figure out why. I have followed the instructions and tips contained in the add-in link, but still can't figure it out.

I also am trying to use an HTML template for the body of the email and although I have structured and saved the word doc correctly with the same database attached through the mailing option, it does not pick up the merge fields when sending through Excel.
