Visual Reports generating "Unknown error" in Microsoft Project 2010 Professional.

Hello,

I am experiencing some difficulty trying to create Visual Reports of my WBS in Microsoft Project 2010 Professional. Around half of the supplied templates generate an "unknown error" when I try to run them e.g "The earned value over time report". I am wondering if this is a problem with Project, the template or my system. I am running WinXP, Office 2003 Professional and Microsoft Project 2010 Professional. I also get the same message when I try to "save data" from the same "visual reports-create report" window.

Thanks,

Warratah

There's a setup issue around using Visual Reports in Project 2010 with Excel 2003. Project 2010 installs OLAP10, a component required by Visual Reports, but for some reason when Excel 2003 is there, it isn't getting installed correctly.

To workaround this issue, you need to manually install the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services 10.0 OLE DB Provider. You can get that through this link -http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=b33d2c78-1059-4ce2-b80d-2343c099bcb4

Thanks,

Heather
