Do any of the following apply?
- The textbox is actually part of a background image? Then you won't be able to edit it unless you have access to the original image files
- In PowerPoint 2007 you have a Slide Master with Slide Layouts that are subordinate to the Master. You might be actually viewing the Slide Layout. Scroll up in the Navigation Pane until you see the Master that the Layout is assigned to (there will be a number next to it)
- You're in Protected Mode. Click the yellow button to enable editing.
