Most laptops have an "embedded" number pad; look around the keyboard for numbers, usually on the keys 7,8,9, u, i, o, j, k, l ,m
If you see a set of keys that also have numbers on 'em, that's it.
You'll need to check your user's manual to learn how to use the embedded numberpad (which works the same as the side number keypad on a full-sized keyboard).
On my Lenovo/Thinkpad, I hold down the Fn key and press NumLock (which shares a key with Scroll Lock).
