Copy the contents of the disc to a new folder in the desktop. Try installing office using the setup.exe file from the folder created and check if it helps.

I too am having this problem...

I have copied the contents of the install disk to desktop folder - it didn't help.

I can go in and find the file location when its telling me to browse for a valid installation source but then it says its an invalid location?

I am also still not able to complete the install.

I am installing from a "Flatfile" as described in Article ID: 314810 and I still get this error.  When I direct it right to the file it tells me it is an "invalid location"  I am still unable to complete the install.
