Custom groups - objects unassign themselves?

Using Access 2007, I have set up custom groups to better categorize my objects for navigation.  However, sometimes objects seem to "unassign" themselves from the groups.  some are linked tables and some are static table.  Is the cause of this known, and is there a remedy?  Thanks!

One reason a table will get "re-assigned" - If you run a "make-table" query, the original table is deleted and a "new" table is created. Any newly created table will automatically go to the unassigned group.

There may be other reasons that I am not aware of but I know the above is one reason.

    Hope this helps.

Rex, this does not answer my question.  I have the groups set up and objects assigned, but when I re-open the database some objects are back in the "unassigned" category despite being assigned several times.  It appears Access is doing something to cause these objects to unassign themselves from the group.

    Hi,

When you create custom groups, if you want to assign objects to these custom groups, you can follow the below steps to achieve it.

Assign objects to the custom group by creating shortcuts

1.Click the menu at the top of the Navigation Pane and, in the upper section of the menu, click your new category. The group or groups that you created for

your category appear in the lower section of the menu, along with the Unassigned Objects group.

2.Drag items from the Unassigned Objects group to a custom group. To move multiple items at once, hold down CTRL while you click the items, and then drag the

    items to a custom group.

Here is a article about custom categories and groups in Navigation Pane that you can refer to.

    Best regards
