a table cannot overlap another table or pivot table

Question

I have two 'tables' on a spreadsheet and would like to sort one of them.  I put the cursor in the one I want to sort and go to 'sort and filter' and I immediately get a dialog box stating 'a table cannot overlap another table or pivot table'.  I just cannot sort from within the web app.  I have no problem doing this from the desktop application.  What can I do to allow the sort to happen?

There are no filters applied to the table, or to the other tables on the worksheet.  The table will not grow when sorted, so it won't be overlapping the other tables if the sort were executed.

Keep in mind that I can sort this same file, using the same procedures, when using the desktop app; however, the web app forbids me from doing so.

Have you already applied filter for the table.

You cannot remove an existing filter from Excel webapp. You may apply a filter to a table from excel webapp when there are not filters currently applied to it.
