Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to make the scroll bar darker than it is (especially in OneNote).  I am having a very hard time seeing where it is when I use the mouse.  This happens with other applications too...

Thank you for any help!

Terri

It can be modified only on the system wide Windows level.

You can try this (but save your display configuration before that, or set a System Restore point):

Control Panel

Display

Appearance

Advanced

Item: 3D Objects Color 1: <-darker colour->

Item: Scrollbar Size: <-larger size->

For "Item: 3D objects",

Click on the coloured box below "Color 1:"

Choose a darker colour

For "Item: Scrollbar",

click on the box containing numeric digits below "Size:"

Choose a larger size

    I know this is two years after the question has been asked, but maybe my info will still help someone. I had this problem and just today looked online for answers. Found none. The scroll bar was pretty much invisible until I managed to find it and click on it. Very frustrating.

    But I solved the problem on my own! Here's what I had to do. I went into my graphics display settings and adjusted the screen color values. When I made adjustments to the Gamma settings, the scroll bar popped into view! It's now dark enough for me to see easily. I made some minor adjustments to brightness and contrast so that the overall display coloring looked good. But it was changing the Gamma setting that did it for me.

    FYI: Laptop, Windows 7. I found my display settings by right-clicking the desktop and choosing my Graphics Card Control Center. Then chose the desktop color tab.  You can also go into the control panel for these options, but it takes more steps to get there.

    Maybe my solution will prove useful to others.
