is there a way for me to define a format for my text boxes as having a visible border? i mean decorative border, not the border used to manipulate or move the text box...

...i want to used onenote as a virtual corkboard--so i want to have a visual border around my text so that it looks like a little card or box with text in it...

...then i can move this box of text around on the screen like i would on a corkboard.

any ideas on how i can do this?

As a work-around, you could use a single-celled Table. This would put a border around what you type. From the Ribbon, Insert --> Table, and then just select the single box in the top left of the grid. To prevent adding new rows to the table, just hold SHIFT when you hit ENTER.

As a work-around to this work-around, once you've inserted a one-cell table, select it and copy it. Then paste it (still empty) next to your page header. When you need a new "note" you can copy it here and paste it anywhere on the page, avoiding the hassle of inserting a table every time you want to add a new note.
