all,

in some of my documents some tabs are .05 inches and others are .5 inches, is there any way to make sure all tabs in a document are of equal length?

You should set custom tab stops (you can use the horizontal ruler) in order to position text where you want it. See

Is the text inserted by the merge of varying length? In that case, you probably have to adjust the tab stop position so that it fits with all merged documents.

    Stefan,

this was very useful and i changed the formatting but i am still running into

    the issue.

the document is a mail merge, so i set tabs stops in the paragraph the issue

is happening. this paragraph is {mergefield}- 2 hard coded tabs-{mergefield}.

these paragraphs get 1 of 5 header styles aplied to it, i set up tab stops in

each of the styles but still i get some the first tab as short, normal, and

oddly enough sometimes the tab is gone. it happens only in some of the header

    styles.

any ideas or changes i should make?
