automatic slide advance delay

I have several slides in the presentation (PPT 07) with photos.  Automatic slide advance for all are set to 5 seconds, however 2 of the slides seem to hang up, or delay about 8-9 seconds before they advance.  All of the slides are similar.  Can't figure out what's going on.  Comments??????

Try compressing the pictures on the following slides. My guess is that you have large pictures on the next slide that, and it is taking a while for PowerPoint to load them. If you run through the slide show up trhough one of the slow transitions, stop the show and start again right before that transition, is the transition faster?
